Blackpool Wedding Photography
I’m very lucky to get to photograph so many weddings across the North West of England and beyond. It’s always a real pleasure to photograph a wedding in my hometown of Blackpool. Blackpool is renowned for fun, laughter, bad weather and….drinking! This wedding did not let up. Ryan and Poppy’s Blackpool Wedding was an adventure from start to finish.
When I first spoke to Ryan and Poppy about their wedding plans they told me they didn’t want a traditional wedding. The photos were to mirror this and with my style being primarily based on storytelling I was the perfect fit for them and their wedding. As always I didn’t hold back. I photographed the real day, from start to finish. The wind tunnel that is Blackpool promenade, the excessive drinking, the colours, the characters and the laughter that didn’t seem to stop all day!
Wedding Ceremony at the Wedding Chapel
After hanging out with Ryan and then Poppy in the morning I jumped on the double decker and headed to the Wedding Chapel with the bridal party. Their wedding ceremony was held at the The Wedding Chapel on Blackpool promenade. We were met with some decent gusts of wind but the sun kept shining.
Wedding Reception at The Highlands
Following the ceremony and a quick stop off at The Beach House, for a cheeky shot for the Bride, we jumped back on the double decker and headed to The Highlands, a local (and somewhat legendary) pub they had hired out to hold their reception.
The drinks flowed none-stop and the laughter continued. I managed to take the newlyweds out for a few quick portraits on the prom before they hastily returned to the party. The evening was filled with dancing, music and lots of happy faces!
This was some wedding and I was honoured to have been a part of it! It was untraditional and chaotic and I loved every second, knowing for sure that Ryan and Poppy had the best wedding day.
If you are planning a Blackpool Wedding then I’d love to hear from you!
