Lakeside Hotel Micro-Wedding Photography - Lee and James
Lee and James’ Micro Wedding at Lakeside Hotel, Newby Bridge
I love The Lake District and weddings in The Lake District never fail to be amazing! This beautifully intimate micro-wedding at the stunning Lakeside Hotel in Newby Bridge was a joy to be part of. Lee and James tied the knot in front of their closest family and friends at this magical lakeside wedding venue.
Lee and James made the decision to get ready together on the morning of their wedding. I love when couples do this as it gives them even more time together on their wedding day. Once ready Lee and James awaited the arrival of their wedding guests before walking each other down the aisle.
After a beautiful ceremony Lee and James spent the day drinking and laughing with their favourite people in the world. The 3 of us then spent a little bit of time creating some portraits of the newlyweds before heading out onto the lake.
Micro-weddings are always so much fun to document. They are always filled with smiles and always feel so personal and intimate.
If you are planning a wedding in the Lake District then I’d love to hear from you!
Weddings - 2019 Highlights
Best of 2019 Weddings
The end of yet another brilliant year in this fascinating and extremely rewarding job. Whenever I speak to people about weddings I always get a feeling of satisfaction and still, 11 years on, feel very privileged to call this my job. Documenting peoples lives and their families is the best part of photographing weddings, in my opinion. Of course creating stunning portraits is so much fun but those photos of family and friends are the memories my couples treasure the most. My main aim this coming year is to keep working hard on the documentary side of wedding photography. Since writing this blog, at the start of 2020, I have picked up a ‘This is Reportage’ award for one of my photographs. TiR is solely for documentary wedding photography and is an international competition with only 4% of entries winning in each round. This was a great start to my 2020, one that I’m hoping can get even better.
2019 was another year photographing some wonderful people in some simply amazing wedding venues. If I photographed your wedding in 2019 then thank you so much for putting your faith and trust in me. Looking forward to 2020 I have so much to be grateful and excited for. If I am photographing your wedding this year then I cannot wait to be a part of it! I have got so many brilliant weddings to look forward to this year.
As always this blog is not to showcase my ‘best of’ 2019 yet more like some of my personal wedding highlights. I have been involved in some brilliant weddings and the photos that follow are just some of my memories of those awesome wedding days.
Thanks 2019. An extremely cracking year.
Are you planning a 2020 or 2021 wedding?? If so I’d love to hear from you.
The Samling Wedding - Adam and Ellie
Adam and Ellie’s Luxury Lake District Wedding at The Samling
I’m not too sure where to start with this wedding. It had everything you might want in a wedding, a luxury Lake District venue with top end food, stunning views over the glorious Lake Windermere, a team of amazing suppliers and dozens of awesome guests.
The Samling has to be one of the best venues I’ve had the pleasure of shooting a wedding at in the North West of England. It is situated perfectly overlooking the stunning Lake Windermere. When decorated with beautiful floristry by the incredible Flower Design this venue simply blossoms. There are so many little areas to discover for portraits and the main dining room is open and bright with views out towards the lake.
Wedding at The Samling
Adam and Ellie are down to earth, lovely humans and their luxury wedding at The Samling was a pleasure to photograph. I arrived in the morning to a common Lake District shower. The rain very politely subsided once the ceremony had begun however, leaving nothing but clear skies and sunshine. The entire wedding day ran super smoothly with the newlyweds and all of their guests enjoying every second. The food was beyond compare and I know it was a very important part of the day for Adam and Ellie. Guests were kept entertained throughout the day with the mystifying Chris Hurst, reading minds and leaving people amazed! My day with the gorgeous Bride and Groom ended with an outdoor first dance, overlooking Lake Windermere as the sun faded beyond the horizon.
Merewood Wedding Photography - John and Rachel
John and Rachel’s Wedding at The Merewood
John and Rachel were married in the back end of summer at the insanely gorgeous Merewood Country House Hotel in The Lake District. Their wedding jam packed with fun and action from the start.
After spending the morning with John and his groomsmen and then Rachel and her Bridesmaids I set off to find the church they were to be married in. Following a beautiful church ceremony their guests head off to the Merewood to continue the celebrations while John and Rachel took a chilled drive around Lake Windermere. We stopped off for a couple of portraits along the way before meeting up with their guests back at The Merewood.
John and Rachel had chosen the awesome Phil Colbert of PC Roadshows to host their wedding breakfast. I’ve many weddings with Phil and each one has been filled with fun, laughter and many memories. If you’re after a memorable wedding breakfast then you should be sure to check out PC Roadshows for hosting it.
The fun continued into the night with one of the North Wests best wedding bands The Deadbeats!
